About this project

Small Efforts Trust began broader disaster relief work during the COVID-19 period, supporting people affected by emergencies, natural disasters, displacement and loss of livelihood. It has since become the largest single area of our spending.

The programme provides emergency food assistance and other essential support during crises. Our flood relief work has focused particularly on communities affected by severe flooding, including areas of Balochistan.

More than 6,500 families have been assisted through ration distribution across the COVID-19 response and flood relief operations. Field monitoring of flood relief confirmed proper distribution and positive community feedback.

How it works

 • Rapid assistance when an emergency hits
 • Transparent beneficiary selection under time pressure
 • Quality control on what is actually distributed
 • Field monitoring after the fact, not just during

Frequently asked

What does your first response usually look like?

Emergency food assistance. It is what can be mobilised fastest and matters most in the first days after an emergency.

Where has this programme worked?

Across the COVID-19 response nationally, and in flood-affected communities including areas of Balochistan.

How are families chosen during an emergency?

Through transparent beneficiary selection. Speed does not remove the need to verify — field monitoring of our flood relief confirmed distribution was carried out properly.

Can I give towards future emergencies?

Yes, and it is genuinely useful. Readiness between emergencies is what makes a fast response possible.
