About this project

Access to clean and reliable drinking water remains a major challenge for rural communities in Pakistan. This programme provides sustainable water sources where families struggle to reach safe water at all.

It works mainly through the installation of hand pumps and community water facilities, bringing water closer to households and reducing dependence on unsafe or distant sources. To date 540 hand pumps have been installed, serving approximately 32,000 families.

D.G. Khan Water Well Initiative. In September 2025 we launched a dedicated initiative in Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding villages, an area facing significant water shortages. It delivers larger community-scale facilities: 8 water wells installed and 1 water filtration plant established. This initiative accounts for PKR 3,347,226 of the figure above; the hand pump programme accounts for PKR 45,736,125.
