About this project

This programme gives targeted assistance to extremely vulnerable families facing severe financial, household and medical difficulty.

A significant component is medical assistance for cancer patients, whose treatment can create an overwhelming financial burden for a low-income household — the kind of cost that ends treatment rather than delaying it.

To date 10 vulnerable families have been assisted, including 5 cancer patients who received help towards their treatment. The programme helps families manage critical expenses and allows deserving patients to continue essential medical care.

Because cancer treatment creates a financial burden that low-income families simply cannot absorb, and the usual result is that treatment stops. Assistance here changes the medical outcome, not just the household finances.
